About this pilgrimage

A land kept by the saints

Greece is not only the country of ancient temples. It is a land kept by its saints, where the relics of the Apostles rest in great churches, where monasteries crown the rocks and the mountains, and where the faith has been prayed without interruption for two thousand years.

You will stand before the relics of the Apostle Andrew at Patras, climb to the monasteries of Meteora that hang between earth and sky, venerate the wonderworking icon of the Mother of God carried out of Pontus, and pray in Thessaloniki at the tomb of Saint Demetrios the Myrrh-streamer. At the last, you will see the Holy Mountain itself rise from the sea.

Each open departure gathers Orthodox Christians from many parishes and cities across the United States and Canada. Many departures are accompanied by a visiting Orthodox priest serving as chaplain. The fellowship of the Orthodox faithful is the part of every pilgrimage that is always delivered.
