The flagship pilgrimage, ten unhurried days at the heart of Orthodox Jerusalem.
The Holy Land Pilgrimage is our flagship trip, the journey for those who would not hurry. Nine nights across two bases, four in a centrally located four-star hotel beside the Basilica of the Nativity in Bethlehem and five in Jerusalem, with time to return often to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, to walk the wilderness without watching the clock, and to follow the apostles to the coast where the Gospel first reached the Roman world.
You will pray at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, where the Patriarchate of Jerusalem keeps watch over the place of the Resurrection. You will descend into the Grotto of the Nativity in the quiet of the morning, because Bethlehem is your home in the first days rather than a stop on the road, walk the Way of the Cross, and stand at the Jordan to renew the promises of your baptism. You will travel into the wilderness of Judea, where the desert monasteries have prayed without ceasing for fifteen centuries, and west to Caesarea Maritima and Joppa, where Saint Peter and Saint Paul first carried the Gospel out beyond the holy mountains.
Each open departure gathers Orthodox Christians from many parishes and cities across the United States and Canada into one company of pilgrims. You will arrive among strangers and return with friends in the faith.
The full day-by-day, with the Orthodox sites at each stop and the photography, is in the downloadable PDF itinerary.
