About this pilgrimage

In the steps of the Apostle

From the Areopagus where Saint Paul preached to the city of the unknown God, to Corinth where he founded a young Church, to Philippi where the Gospel first set foot in Europe. This is the pilgrimage that walks the second missionary journey of the Apostle, with the monasteries of Meteora and the city of Saint Demetrios along the way.

You will stand on the Areopagus and read again the speech of the Apostle to the Athenians. You will descend into the bema at ancient Corinth where Paul stood before the proconsul. You will venerate the wonderworking icons of Meteora, pray at the relics of Saint Demetrios in his great basilica at Thessaloniki, and follow the Via Egnatia to Philippi where the Gospel first reached Europe and to Kavala, the ancient Neapolis.

Each open departure gathers Orthodox Christians from many parishes across the United States and Canada into one company of pilgrims.

Prices are per person in US dollars, for the land pilgrimage, sharing a twin or double room. The single supplement is quoted at booking, and we are glad to match willing pilgrims as roommates where we can. A deposit of $400 per person reserves your place. No payment is taken on the booking form.

Where Paul walked, the Gospel still walks. The roads have changed. The road has not.
