About this pilgrimage

From Constantinople to the Seven Churches

The Seven Churches pilgrimage gathers Constantinople and the cities of the Apocalypse into a single eight-day journey. You will pray at the seat of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, stand under the dome of Hagia Sophia, and follow Saint John from city to city across the western coast of Asia Minor.

You will pray at the Patriarchal Church of Saint George at the Phanar, where the Ecumenical Patriarch keeps the throne of Andrew the First-Called. You will venerate the Byzantine mosaics at Chora and the great church of Hagia Sophia. Then the road follows the Apostle John to Ephesus, to Smyrna of the martyrs, to Pergamon of the throne of Satan, to Sardis, Philadelphia, Thyatira, and Laodicea, the Seven Churches the Lord himself addressed in the Apocalypse.

Each open departure gathers Orthodox Christians from many parishes across the United States and Canada into one company of pilgrims.

Prices are per person in US dollars, for the land pilgrimage, sharing a twin or double room. The single supplement is quoted at booking, and we are glad to match willing pilgrims as roommates where we can. A deposit of $400 per person reserves your place. No payment is taken on the booking form.

The Lord wrote letters to seven churches. You will walk the streets they read those letters on.
