Travel in the company of Orthodox Christians from many parishes across North America.
The land pilgrimage: four-star hotels on a half-board basis, a licensed Orthodox-friendly guide, a private air-conditioned coach, all entrance fees, all transfers, and the special inclusions such as the Sea of Galilee boat and the Mount Athos coastal cruise. International airfare is not included and is offered separately as a group air add-on.
Many of our pilgrims travel alone. We match willing solo pilgrims as roommates of the same sex so they pay the twin-share price, with no single supplement. A pilgrim who prefers a room of their own pays a modest single supplement, quoted at the time of booking.
Many departures are accompanied by a visiting Orthodox priest who leads the daily prayer. This is offered wherever it can be arranged, but it is not promised on every departure. What every departure delivers is the company of fellow Orthodox Christians from across North America.
A deposit of $400 per person reserves your place. The balance is due 90 days before departure. Cancellation: 90 days or more before departure, the deposit is retained; 89 to 60 days, one half of the price; 59 to 30 days, three quarters; inside 30 days, no refund is possible. Travel insurance with cancellation cover is strongly advised.
Each departure operates once a small minimum group is reached, and we consolidate bookings carefully so cancellations are rare. If Mystakidis Tours ever cancels a departure, you choose between a full refund of every dollar paid, including the deposit, within fourteen days, or a free transfer of your funds to any other pilgrimage on the calendar.
We have operated in the region continuously since 1959, and our Athens team monitors conditions at every destination daily, in direct contact with our people on the ground. If conditions ever affect your departure, you may transfer to another date or another pilgrimage at no charge, and we will always tell you plainly what we know. We also strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance with cancellation cover for every pilgrim.
The pilgrimage is pan-Orthodox. Every canonical Orthodox jurisdiction is welcome, since the holy sites belong to all of Orthodoxy.
